AgeWell Advisors is a locally owned and operated small business based in Houston, TX, led by Jerry McMillan. Jerry has over a decade of experience in helping senior citizens via the insurance industry where he advised them on long term care, annuity, and life insurance policies. However, Jerry's passion for helping families with this process stems from his own personal story of having to assist in finding a care home for his own father who had a range of health issues that saw him check in and out of hospitals for over 3 years. Once it became clear that Jerry's father needed more care than the family could provide, he set out to research options on in-home nursing, assisted living, & 24 hour nursing options, but the process was unclear. He had a feeling that the facilities that he spoke with were not being straightforward about their process and that if there was someone that could provide guidance to he and his family as they looked for a home for his dad, they wouldn't have had to put him into 4 different facilities over the course of 15 months. Each facility promised that they would do things differently than the last one, those promises were rarely kept beyond the first couple of months. At that point, Jerry vowed to help families have a better experience finding care facilities for their loved ones than he did. A few years later, AgeWell Advisors was born.
